Gareth Filling in for Arn adventure 2

The team chose to explore, with Kearin the rock lovin’ potato haulin’ self-proclaimed Dwarf fighter using his compass (drawing compass, not navigational) to keep a map of our exploits on stone tablets. The plan was to head north for a day, and then circle the outpost clockwise.

Along the way the group dealt with one or more of the following each evening: goblins, giant owls, and tangling vegetation. During the first day the team discovered a squirrel that spoke common. After some questioning, appears most animals in the wild have this early-Narnia quality of common speech. During the 2nd day the team found a suit of armor that had glowing eyes and would rotate to face whoever stepped closest. The suit did not appear to be an imminent threat, so the team took note and walked around. When the team finally got back to the outpost after a few days, it was under attack from goblins. The team jumped in to skewer the goblins, while dealing with tangling plant life. The team triumphed, with a total of 10 goblin heads over the past few days, about 7-9 of them from this most recent battle.

Before entering the outpost they were greeted by messenger owl with a page of paper that nobody owned up to being able to translate.

Upon entering and speaking with Dale, the team learned the contents of the paper, provided their crude maps, and tale of the weird armor suit. The team’s overarching drive is to systematically explore the area surrounding the city, but in light of the content’s of the owl’s journal page, the team may consider going inward to a section of the city known as Robertin.
